Donna - your instructor

Donna became a contract/independent food safety auditor in 2017 and hasn't looked back since. She's been asked to come back plant-side and has even been asked to come on to a certification body as a full-time food safety auditor, but the freedom of handling her own time/schedule is the tether that keeps her as an independent. She can walk you through the process.

Donna has over 25 years in food manufacturing. Sectors include:

- Bakery: white bread and bun manufacturing.

- Liquid Products: BBQ sauces, ketchup, syrups, dressings, toppings.

- Dairy, including orange juice (FDA Industry Supervisor in the Beta Lactam Testing of Raw Milk)

- Other sectors include spices, oils, fats, non-food contact packaging, food-contact packaging, carbonated beverages, ice production, pet food storage facilities, dry foods, i.e., beans and raw peanut cleaning operations, food banks, vegetable farms, honey processing, pharmaceuticals (powders and pills), flour mills, and meat processors (grinding, cutting, and packaging beef, pork, and chicken).

Donna is the owner and president of Food Safety Advisor, LLC in Atlanta, GA. She has extensive background in developing and managing quality and food safety systems at manufacturing and corporate levels. She enjoys consulting and uses her expertise within small to large-scale production environments working with employees from operators to CEOs.

Donna’s BRCGS categories:

- 7 (dairy, liquid egg)

- 12 (beverages)

- 14 (bakery)

One of Donna’s strengths is performing BRCGS GAP Assessments in which she travelled throughout the U.S. to perform GAP Assessments for a large U.S. baking company.
